Islamabad SP Adeel Akbar Suicide Shocks Police Community

Islamabad Police officer SP Adeel Akbar has reportedly died after shooting himself inside his vehicle. He was on a phone call when he took a pistol from his staff and allegedly fired at himself. He was rushed to PIMS Hospital but could not survive. This tragic incident has been widely reported as the Islamabad SP Adeel Akbar suicide.

Before this incident, SP Adeel Akbar was performing his duties actively. He had visited Haji Camp to check security arrangements and met with officers on duty. The Islamabad Police shared updates and photos of his visit on their official X account, showing him inspecting security measures and instructing officers to remain alert.

Police officials said SP Adeel Akbar was driving from Constitution Avenue to his office when the fatal shot occurred inside his car. Authorities have launched a full investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

His funeral prayer was held at the Police Lines and attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, senior police officers, and other law enforcement officials. After the ceremony, his body was sent with full official honors to his hometown in Gujrat for burial.

SP Adeel Akbar belonged to the 46th Common of the Police Service of Pakistan and was one of the top performers in his CSS batch. He had recently tested positive for dengue but continued working despite illness. He was reportedly depressed due to a delayed promotion and leaves behind a one-year-old daughter. This heartbreaking event is remembered as the Islamabad SP Adeel Akbar suicide.
